Every day, L2 SOC Analysts perform deep-dive analysis and lead investigations into security threats. They use platforms like Microsoft Sentinel, Defender Suite, Trellix, and Zscaler to find and address incidents. You would generate comprehensive incident reports and collaborate closely with different technical teams.
Key Responsibilities of an L2 SOC Analyst
On a typical day, you would be expected to independently investigate security alerts and high-risk incidents using enterprise SIEM and advanced security tooling.
Applying frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and leveraging threat intelligence, you’ll be hands-on in real-time threat identification and response.
Tier 1 members will benefit from your guidance and mentorship, as you help grow the team’s skill set and improve detection methods.
