Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The Therapy Assistant will work with Speech-Language Pathologists to provide direct and group therapy to patients, especially in stroke and brain injury units.
Tasks also include prepping materials, assisting with videofluoroscopic swallow studies, maintaining equipment, and helping ensure a clean environment for patients.
Communication and teamwork are essential as you’ll interact with internal and external teams, and sometimes assist in quality improvement and student supervision projects.
Being an active participant in an interprofessional approach, the Therapy Assistant also contributes to the overall care plan and helps with both clinical and administrative duties.
